Our commitment to minimising our environmental impact is not just about words – it’s ingrained in everything we do as a business.
And this is exemplified by our recently awarded re-accreditation to the internationally recognised ISO14001 standard for environmental management.
ISO standards are the global benchmark for best practice in a number of areas which are critical in modern business: environmental, quality, health & safety are just a few of the key ones.
Their prestige is demonstrated by the fact that many organisations now use ISO accreditation as a key criterion when selecting a supply partner.
That means that gaining and keeping the accreditation isn’t just a good idea – it’s a vital contributor to business success.
Wherever you are located in the world, the process for accreditation, and the standards to which you are held as a business, are the same for each category.
The ISO14001 standard sets out best practice for organisations seeking to minimise reduce their environmental through the adoption of an effective environmental management system (EMS).
It stipulates five key areas which must make up a company’s EMS: Environmental Policy, Planning, Implementation, Checking & Corrective Action, and Management Review.
The assessment over the spring and summer was rigorous, and was carried out by independent expert assessors. It covered all of our departments, and every aspect of our work, from reducing waste through to how we use the resources available to us – not just the raw materials from which we manufacture our products but energy, water and so on.
We are delighted to say that we came through the process successfully once again – congratulations and thanks to all of our team who played a part in the process!
At EcoTech we don’t regard ISO14001 accreditation, and ethical, environmentally friendly business practice, as a box-ticking exercise. It’s a strand that runs through everything we do at EcoTech – and guarantees that our wholesalers and distributors, and the customers they supply are working with a company which puts its environmental commitments and legacy first.
